New Lab Under Construction
The UC Berkeley IEEE Student Branch has a number of resources avalable to students and EECS community. We operate the only student run electronics lab at Berkeley and are currently redesigning the room in 246 Cory to meet the demands of our users. We plan to feature 6 new workstations that will run all the software for project classes, a workbench to help students complete circuit projects, and a new and updated library to provide quick and easy access to references.
Moore Room
We also manage the Moore Room in the courtyard of Cory Hall as a place for students to meet, do work, or just unwind. It features desks, leather couches, and a ping pong table, and is open 24 hours a day.
IEEE Hands-on Practical Electronics Class
For those students who have not yet taken EE40, every semester we offer EE198 / EE98, IEEE's hands-on electronics DeCal class for academic credit. To learn more, please see the HOPE DeCal section of our website, visit www.decal.org, or see our article in Engineering News.
We also offer a similar 10 week class for East Bay High School Students.
Other Resources
The IEEE officers are a great resource for any questions you might have about IEEE or the EECS department. We hold weekly officer meetings every Sunday at 6:30pm in the Moore Room and can also be contacted by email. If you are interested in becoming an officer, please contact the chair.
